Acclaimed Versatile Radio Host and Muso to take on new Sunday Breakfast Show

If at any time, you would have wondered if it’s only the rich that get richer, so do the tradesmen who can only get better!!!!

Chris Nell, surely is far from being a 20 year veteran, but the truth is he sure is much better than most. Over a two year media career, audiences have seen him everywhere from stage productions to film and TV, however he is more omnipresent these days as a deejay on radio. . A pure pioneer without peer, viewers and listeners adore him, peers admire him , management can’t do without him and prospective employers actively seek him.

If you long for intimacy with tunes you love and actively seek more of it, Chris is the go-to-guy for all things music. Ever since his first on-air experience at Bosveld Stereo 107.5 FM,

Nell wowed listeners with a wealth of knowledge as a music connoisseur from The Beatles to Elvis and even displayed a more offbeat take with his love for Hard Rock and Metal. This did nothing, but more-than-triple his audience share and he instantly shot up the ranks to not only being an overnight radio host, but an invaluable continuity presenter as well. A “home run” merit wise, as he alternately hosted various dayparts from drivetime to mornings and everything in-between. However there is also another aspect above his talent as a music historian that also increases his demand . . . . Chris Nell loves his listeners and goes out of his way to look after them. He knows just when to crack a joke, when to cheer them up, when to teach them something or just when to let his audience enjoy the music and enjoy it with them.

Now the versatile broadcaster will put his efforts into full throttle as the brand new host of a Sunday Breakfast Show for the renowned community station, starting near the end of January. An absolute farcry of his usual oeuvre, however with his energetic style, listeners will be treated to a joyride of fun over four hours with the spontaneous radioman.

Nell’s broadcasting style is so unique in form and function that his target audience is dynamic, partly of his personality and his delivery. Listeners new and old have come to cherish the man as one of their own; in their kitchen, their living room, or in the car they love listening to him. His labor didn’t go unnoticed for long – though a team effort, Nell did prove pivotal in bringing the station a Beeld Readers Choice award and has also been polled as one of “South Africa’s Favourite Radio Presenters” by independent online magazine Oppiplanke.

Now on a weekend show the audience will discover a new dimension of the man who carries labels such as “The Super Broadcaster” and “Everybody’s Best Friend.” They can expect more personality, more trivia and a treasure trove of great music to start the day.

Die Sondag Oggend Ontbyt will be heard from 05:00 till 09:00 on Bosveld Stereo 107.5 FM and officially launches on 26 January.
